ContextPin is available for macOS, with Windows and Linux support coming soon. Follow the instructions below for your platform.
macOS
Requirements
- macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel processor
- At least 200 MB of available storage
Download
- Go to the Download page
- Click Download for Mac
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile - Drag ContextPin to your Applications folder
First Launch
When you first open ContextPin, macOS may display a security warning because the app is downloaded from the internet. To open it:
- Right-click (or Control-click) on ContextPin in your Applications folder
- Select Open from the context menu
- Click Open in the dialog that appears
Homebrew (Alternative)
If you prefer using Homebrew, you can install ContextPin with:
brew install --cask contextpin Windows (Coming Soon)

Linux support is currently in development. We'll provide both .deb and .AppImage formats.
Updating ContextPin
ContextPin includes automatic update checking. When a new version is available:
- You'll see a notification in the app
- Click Update Now to download and install the update
- Restart the app when prompted
You can also manually check for updates by going to ContextPin → Check for Updates in the menu bar.
Uninstalling
macOS
- Quit ContextPin if it's running
- Open Finder and go to Applications
- Drag ContextPin to the Trash
- Empty the Trash
To also remove your data and preferences:
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.contextpin.app
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.contextpin.app.plist Next Steps
